Pyrite in Hematite Specimen
Pyrite is most noted for its nickname, “Fool’s Gold,” the glittering rock notoriously mistaken by naïve prospectors as real gold. Although similar in hue, Pyrite is lighter in color than gold but much denser, making this piece a lovely weight.
This particular piece of pyrite displays the beautiful cubic facets of natural pyrite next to hematite's small forms. The contrast between the granular dark hematite and the large faces of gold pyrite reminds us of a weather-worn cliff face.
You will be getting the exact specimen pictured. It measures approx 2.5" x 2".
